President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky may pay his first official visit to Serbia at the end of the week. This was reported on May 18 by the N1 TV channel, citing diplomatic sources.

"A Ukrainian delegation is expected to visit Serbia this week, and perhaps it will be personally led by President Vladimir Zelensky," the article says.

Although there is no official confirmation of this trip yet, diplomatic sources in Belgrade expect that a "joint memorandum of understanding on trade cooperation between the two countries" may be signed in the near future. According to the TV channel, relations between Serbia and Ukraine "remain difficult."

On the eve, Serbian President Alexander Vucic noted that it was difficult to inflict a military defeat on Russia, Moscow would not allow this. He expressed hope for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. Vucic also expects that US President Donald Trump will make every effort for this.
