- The Russian government will allocate 5 billion rubles for the development of ferries in the Kerch Strait
The Russian government will allocate 5 billion rubles for the development of a ferry crossing through the Kerch Strait. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on May 19.
According to the head of government, all logistics routes, including the ferry crossing, are involved for the convenience of Crimean vacationers. It works both for passengers and for the transportation of automobile and railway equipment.
"This year we will allocate 5 billion rubles to support this direction, which will ensure ferry service between the ports of Kerch and the Caucasus," Mishustin said.
The Prime Minister stressed that this decision would give people the opportunity to choose a convenient route and generally strengthen the transport connectivity of Russian regions.
Before the start of the new tourist season, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reminded the rules of passage on the Crimean Bridge in 2026. For passenger cars, the rules of travel remain the same: cars with oversized cargo are sent to a stationary inspection and inspection complex, and employees of the Ministry of Transport conduct a full inspection of all passing vehicles, as well as citizens themselves and their luggage at specially equipped sites.
