An apartment building collapsed in the city of Goerlitz in Germany, as a result of which five people were missing, two of whom were found. This was reported on May 19 by the German newspaper Die Zeit, citing sources.

"After the break—in of a historic building in Goerlitz, Saxony, two of the five people initially reported missing are safe <...>. They lived in one of the apartments in this building," the publication says.

It is noted that the search is currently continuing for the remaining three people who could have been in the building during the collapse. According to the Saxony police, the preliminary cause of the collapse of the house could be a gas explosion. Police, firefighters and disaster response personnel are at the scene.

The Iwate newspaper reported on April 28 that an explosion had occurred at a pharmaceutical company's factory in Japan, injuring five people. According to the newspaper, two ethanol tanks exploded, after which a fire broke out, which was extinguished about three hours later.
