Forecasters predicted abnormally hot weather in Moscow and the region
Abnormally hot weather is expected in Moscow and the region in the next five days. The corresponding forecast was made on May 18 at the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation.
The air temperature in the capital region will be 7-9 degrees above normal. The thermometer can rise to +32 degrees during the daytime.
"Abnormally hot weather will prevail in the capital region for the next five days with an average daily air temperature 7-9 degrees above normal," the Hydrometeorological Center told TASS.
The cause of the weather anomaly was a tropospheric ridge from Central Asia. Air from the Black and Caspian Seas is expected to move along its outskirts, which may also cause short-term rains.
Marina Makarova, a leading employee of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said on May 2 that the meteorological summer will come in the Moscow region on May 26. As the meteorologist noted, this is most important for people working in the agricultural sector. At the same time, the weather conditions will allow all other Russians to feel the onset of the summer season.
