The uranium reserves locked underground after the US strike on the Iranian nuclear facility may remain buried forever. This was announced on May 14 by US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News channel.

He added that at the same time he would like to take the remaining stocks.

"We dropped bombs, each of them went down a ventilation shaft and exploded, after which the whole mountain collapsed on this object...> No one will ever be able to get to the nuclear dust. But I would still prefer to get it. I would prefer to take her away," he said.

During the interview, Trump also said that Beijing, in his opinion, supports Washington's position and is not interested in Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons.

The Axios portal reported on May 12 that Trump may resume military action against Iran, as negotiations have again reached an impasse. According to sources, in the last round of drafting the peace agreement, Iran again excluded the provision of enriched uranium to the United States.
