Murmansk streets will be decorated with new flower pots and planters

New flower pots and planters will appear on the streets of Murmansk next summer. New green areas will also be built on the territory of the city, said the mayor of the regional capital, Ivan Lebedev, during his report on the work for the year.

In summer, 175,480 plants will decorate city flower beds and squares, writes Bi-port news agency. All green spaces will be adapted to the conditions of the Far North.

According to the mayor, the issue of greening the city is one of the priorities. So, last year in 2025, 127.5 thousand plants were planted, among which there were 26.5 thousand tulips.

Lebedev also said that last year, the townspeople planted 9.2 thousand plants during the "Green Record" campaign. This year, 20 more urban areas will be added for planting, and the number of plants has been increased.

Earlier in May, it was reported that repairs of two sections of roads had begun in Murmansk. The roadway from Kolsky Avenue to Marat Street and Khibinsky Lane is being put in order.
