In Chekhov, almost 5 hectares of strawberries were transferred to farming
The young farm "Farmer's Paradise" was given two plots of land with a total area of 4.9 hectares for growing strawberries. This decision was made by the Ministry of Property Relations of the Moscow region, the press service of the department reported on Thursday, May 14.
In the near future, farmers will carry out cultural activities and restore the fertility of the land. Next year, 2027, it is planned to plant different types of strawberries.
As explained in the department, the cultivation of berry crops remains one of the most dynamically developing areas of agribusiness. Farmers grow strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, black and red currants, cherries and gooseberries.
Thus, the area of plantings increased from 412 hectares in 2023 to 553 hectares in 2026, and the area of plantings in fruiting age — from 294 hectares to 420 hectares, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya.
Support measures are provided for farmers developing the berry sector. Among them are subsidies, grants, preferential loans for the construction of greenhouses and the purchase of machinery.
Earlier it was reported that in mid-May, strawberries in Russian retail chains fell in price to 800 rubles per 1 kg. This is 28% cheaper than in April, when 1 kg cost from 1,120 rubles. The decrease in prices is attributed to the appearance of the first domestic crop on the shelves and an increase in supply.
