The former head of the office of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Andrei Ermak, said on May 12 in his Telegram channel that he considered the accusations against him to be unfounded.

"The first court hearing on the case took place, during which I was informed of the suspicion. We are working with lawyers on the case materials. But after the first review, I can repeat what I told the journalists.: The report of suspicion is unfounded," he wrote.

Ermak added that he was open to all legal proceedings. He noted that the investigation should be independent of political statements, media campaigns or any other forms of influence. Ermak stressed that he remains in Ukraine and intends to continue his law practice.

On the eve of the Ukrainian security forces conducted searches at Ermak. At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine (SAP) stated that the agency, together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), exposed an organized group involved in the legalization of 460 million hryvnias in luxury construction near Kiev. One of the members of the group is Ermak, he was charged with suspicion.

Later, on May 12, the NABU reported on the seizure of real estate in the city of Kozyn near Kiev, which appears in the anti-corruption case. The agency did not name the owners. At the same time, the online publication "Country.ua" admitted that Zelensky could become a defendant in a criminal case on corruption.
