A tourist from Germany went to court because of the constantly missing free lounge chairs in the hotel and sued the tour operator for $ 1,200. This was reported on May 9 by the New York Post (NYP).

"A German tourist sued over the lack of deck chairs for his family in a Greek hotel and received $1,200," the publication says.

It is noted that the man paid over $8,000 for 11 days of vacation at the Grecotel Kos Imperial hotel on the Greek island of Kos, where he arrived with his wife and two children in August 2024. According to the man, every morning they did not have time to find free chairs, despite the hotel's prohibition to take up seats with towels. It is specified that during the entire vacation, the family was able to find only two free sun loungers.

As a result, the man appealed to the court, which ruled in his favor and confirmed that the fault lies with the tour operator TUI Deutschland. It is also emphasized that the tour operator and the hotel are not obliged to provide sun beds to all guests, but they must be in the required volume.
