The International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the management of Formula 1 have agreed on changes to the regulations for 2027, among them an increase in the power of internal combustion engines and a decrease in the performance of the energy recovery system in cars. This was reported on the federation's website on May 7.

"The measures agreed today for 2027 provide for a nominal increase in the power of the internal combustion engine (ICE) by about 50 kW, as well as an increase in fuel consumption and a nominal decrease in the power of the energy recovery system (SEE) by about 50 kW," the report says.

It is noted that further detailed discussions are needed in technical groups, including teams and manufacturers of power units, to make a final decision on the package of rules. According to the FIA, the proposals presented at today's meeting are the result of a series of consultations between the FIA and "various stakeholders", taking into account the views of the Formula 1 drivers.

On March 15, the website of the Formula 1 press service, citing the president and CEO of the championship, Stefano Domenicali, reported that the Grand Prix stages of the Formula 1 World Championship in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were canceled due to the situation in the Middle East. It was clarified that the stages of the Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy championships will also not take place at the scheduled time.
