The Russian Post explained the simplification of the parcel tracking system

Some of the information about the location of the parcels and their status was hidden by Russian Post in order to simplify the customer's journey. This was reported on May 4 by RIA Novosti with reference to the company.

"The transition to a new tracking model is aimed at simplifying the customer journey, without unnecessary statuses and round—the-clock technical alerts, and improving the security of moving shipments," the statement said.

The Russian Post noted that all hidden statuses will remain in the internal Mail system, but will not be visible to customers so as "not to overload with a multitude of intermediate statuses" and promptly identify emergency situations.

Industry representatives believe that this will lead to increased costs for citizens and violation of their rights.

On March 25, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation sent to the government a bill on measures to support Russian Post. According to the document, the post office will become a single channel for the delivery of legally significant messages from government agencies to citizens and businesses.
