A new subject "DNA of Russia" will be introduced in schools

Starting from the 2026/27 academic year, a new subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" (DNA of Russia) will be included in all schools of the country. This was announced on April 30 by the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.

"The subject is based on the study of traditional moral values based on the federally approved pantheon of heroes. Its essence is to introduce schoolchildren to the lives of prominent government and public figures who have played a significant role in the development of our country. The guys should be really interested, and this requires an informal approach," he said.

It is noted that it will be studied in grades 5-7.
