The launch of the Rox 01 crossover in Russia was postponed to the beginning of summer
In Kaliningrad, the assembly of Chinese hybrid Rox 01 crossovers will begin at the Avtotor plant in June this year. This is stated in the message of the press service of the Russian representative office of the brand, which was received by Izvestia on April 29.
Initially, as reported in February, the release of Rox crossovers was supposed to begin in the spring of this year.
Sales of imported Rox 01 crossovers began in Russia in February last year. It has a sequential hybrid system, where the 1.5-liter internal combustion engine works as an electric power generator, and the movement is carried out by electric motors that transmit thrust to all wheels.
The total power of the two electric motors is 476 hp (740 Nm), they are powered by a CATL traction battery (56 kWh). Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 5.5 seconds, and the maximum power reserve in hybrid mode reaches 1,115 km on the WLTC cycle. The price of the model starts from 8.35 million rubles.
The Rox Adamas crossover, which is an upgraded version of the Rox 01, is also planned to be put on the Avtotor assembly line, the company reported earlier.
The day before, it became known that the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant has begun installation of a new welding line for the production of Jetour T1 and T2 crossovers using a full technological cycle with welding and painting.
