Calculations of BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the locations of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on April 27 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

It is specified that the nodes of concentration of reserves of Ukrainian formations in the area of the settlement of Novoselovka were identified by operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The target data was transferred to the rocket artillery units. The BM-21 Grad MLRS crews moved into position and delivered massive strikes. Fire correction and target damage control were carried out by UAV calculations using domestic communications and control equipment.

As a result, the locations of the Ukrainian forces, as well as the manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the Novoselovka area, were destroyed.

The commander of the unit with the call sign Smolensk noted that rocket artillery is a priority target for the enemy, so the crews have to work in conditions of constant threat from the air, carefully choosing firing positions.

"We are working on the squares, on enemy manpower, on the accumulation of equipment, on the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters. <...> The firing position should be chosen accordingly, starting from the target, taking into account weather conditions and air conditions," he noted.

On April 25, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that calculations of 122 mm self-propelled artillery units (ACS) 2S1 "Gvozdika" of the Vostok group of forces destroyed camouflaged dugouts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region. The hidden positions and buried shelters of the enemy were revealed by the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles, the coordinates of the targets were transmitted to the gunners, who delivered accurate strikes.
