The flooding season of reservoirs has begun in the Kurgan region. Lake Achikul in the Belozersky district was the first to be released, with 500,000 larvae of pelage (syrka), the press service of the municipality administration reports.

Specialists of Kurganrybkhoz released three-day-old larvae into the water on April 21, writes <url> news agency. In the future, they should replenish the population of valuable commercial fish.

According to local authorities, such events take place regularly. A year earlier, Achikul was also stuffed with pellets. Lake Kamagan will be next — it is also planned to be populated with cheese larvae, as it was a year ago.

The administration noted that this spring the water level in the district lakes was higher than in 2025. This should have a positive effect on the food supply and survival of juveniles.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russian scientists have created the first domestic system to improve water quality in aquaculture farms. Its use reduces the risk of infections on fish farms, which means that producers do not need to use an antibiotic.
