- MP Naderi stated Iran's unwillingness to engage in dialogue with the United States before lifting the blockade
Iran will not hold a new round of talks with the United States until Washington lifts the naval blockade. This was announced on April 21 by Ahmad Naderi, a member of the Iranian Parliament.
"Until the naval blockade is lifted, we do not intend to hold a second round of negotiations," the Iranian SNN television channel quoted Naderi as saying on its Telegram channel.
He stressed that none of the Iranian negotiating teams went to Pakistan, and all rumors about the presence of the Iranian team at the talks are an absolute lie.
On the same day, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States had used the pause in hostilities with Iran to rearm and now had greater military power in the region than before the start of Operation Epic Fury. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that Iran probably also replenished its reserves a little.
The American leader also noted that the United States expects the bombing of Iran to continue, as this will improve Washington's position in negotiations with Tehran. The head of the White House recalled that "huge amounts of money" had been spent on the "restoration" of the American army.
The Axios portal explained on the same day that Iran was delaying negotiations with the United States due to pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which insists on a tougher stance. According to him, Pakistani, Egyptian and Turkish mediators called on the Iranians to attend the meeting.
