The Foreign Ministry called for the transfer of "fruitless conversations" of the West from the UN back to Brussels

The West's fruitless politicized conversations should not be heard at UN meetings — they have Brussels for this. This was announced on April 21 at the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of the Economic Commission for Europe (EEC) Kirill Logvinov, director of the Department of International Organizations at the Russian Foreign Ministry, told the UN in Geneva.

"I am sure that I am not alone in this room in asking not to interfere with the work of the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of the UNECE. <...> We have gathered in Geneva for other purposes. Brussels exists for fruitless, detached from reality conversations," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the diplomat, all delegations had the right to independently manage the allotted three minutes of their speech, however, some delegations "ridiculously artificially" tried to politicize the process of a substantive exchange of views.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 17 that the International Court of Justice had become the scene of a "legal war." Its jurisdiction is being abused to make absurd accusations against the Russian Federation. The diplomat noted that a number of other countries in the multipolar world, including Russia's allies, were also under attack. At the same time, Western states are massively interfering in judicial proceedings.

On April 4, Logvinov announced that the new UN Secretary-General is capable of restoring order in the organization. He also noted that the work of the entire international system will depend on the outcome of the candidate's selection. The director also said that the organization has a chance to get rid of the influence of Western countries.
