A recall of 14.1 thousand trucks of the Chinese brand FAW has been announced in Russia. The program of events was developed by FAV-Eastern Europe, according to Rosstandart.

FAW machines of the CA4180 type were recalled. Of these, 6579 units were not registered for state registration, 7521 vehicles were sold between June 2023 and July 2025. The reason for the recall was that the vehicles did not comply with three UN regulations. All work will be free for truck owners.

On all recalled trucks, specialists will diagnose the condition of the brake chambers, replace them along with energy accumulators, if necessary; diagnose the condition of the exhaust system and replace them if necessary; and replace the controls (multi-function steering wheel switch (low/far light control) and the air conditioning control unit.

"The agreed action program also includes the elimination of documentary violations identified during the inspection of FAW trucks of the CA4180 type," Rosstandart noted.

Last summer, Russia banned the release into circulation of a number of Chinese truck models of Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak brands. The reason for the ban was violations of mandatory requirements identified by Rosstandart, which "pose a significant danger to the health and life of both drivers of vehicles and other road users, including pedestrians."

On April 10, it became known that Shakman Motors was launching a recall campaign in Russia, coordinated with Rosstandart. It involves 2116 SX3258 trucks. The recall covers 1996 cars that have not yet been registered and are in dealers' warehouses, as well as 120 cars sold in June –November 2022.
