Iran has thwarted US military plans by offering to open the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced on April 20 by former American diplomat Chas Freeman on the air of the YouTube channel.

"We don't know what will happen next. But one possible explanation for the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is that the Donald Trump administration planned to end everything with some kind of military explosion this weekend. As far as I know, such plans did exist, but Iran thwarted them by actually offering to open the strait," he said.

In addition, Freeman noted that Iran is now in an advantageous position. According to him, the Islamic Republic has sufficient oil reserves located outside the Strait of Hormuz. He also believes that the country will not be left without income in the near future.
