ROSSETI has provided 40 MW of capacity to ROSATOM's gigafactory in New Moscow

ROSSETI Moscow Region has completed construction and installation work to provide electricity to one of the country's largest enterprises for the production of batteries and energy storage devices, the press service of PJSC ROSSETI reported.

Currently, a subsidiary of the Rosatom State Corporation is completing the construction of an enterprise on the site of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. The project is being implemented with the support of the Moscow Government and will bring about 1,300 new jobs to the city. The commissioning of the enterprise will be the next step to ensure the technological sovereignty of the country.

For reliable power supply to the energy facility, more than 20 km of 20 kV cable transmission lines were laid, two distribution points and nine 20/0.4 kV transformer substations equipped with modern Russian electrical equipment were built. As a result, the power engineers provided the opportunity to provide 40 MW of electric power, of which 8.8 MW has already been provided to the enterprise. The remaining capacity will be provided when the applicant is ready.

The gigafactory is scheduled to be launched in 2026. Its production capacity will be 4 GWh per year, which is equivalent to 18 million lithium-ion cells or 50,000 rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles, electric buses, trams, riverboats and personal mobility equipment. A center for advanced scientific and technical developments will also be established here.

ROSSETI Moscow Region will provide a similar capacity, about 40 MW, to the Inesis gigafactory, which is being built at the same site. Currently, a contract for technological connection has already been concluded with the domestic manufacturer. Both enterprises will be part of the Moscow cluster for the production of electricity storage systems, which should provide almost all the needs of the domestic market for modern batteries.
