Employees of Europe's tallest weather station, Sulak Vysokogornaya, in Dagestan, have issued a distress call due to heavy snowfall. This was reported on April 15 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic.

"The evacuation was planned using a rope-launching device, but due to bad weather conditions and strong winds, it was not possible for the helicopter to hover - the evacuation failed," the ministry said in a statement posted on its channel.

It was not possible to pick up the station workers, but the helicopter pilots were able to deliver food, heating equipment and an electric power generator to them, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. It is noted that there is currently no threat to the safety of meteorologists.

On April 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions to eliminate the consequences of floods in Dagestan. The Head of State instructed to include representatives of federal authorities, executive bodies of Dagestan, as well as Deputy Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Marat Ramazanov in the commission. Alexander Kurenkov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, was appointed Chairman of the commission.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
