The Northern Fleet tanker Kama returned to the port of Murmansk from a seven-month cruise

The Kama medium sea tanker of the Northern Fleet returned to its home port of Murmansk after completing its long-range missions. This was announced on April 14 by the press service of the Northern Fleet.

It is noted that for seven months the tanker provided ships and vessels of the Russian Navy. The tanker "Kama" was greeted in a solemn atmosphere by officers of the logistics department of the Northern Fleet, relatives and friends of the crew, and a military band was playing. The report of the ship's captain on the successful completion of the assigned tasks was received by Vice Admiral Dmitry Ukrainets, Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet for Logistics.

"The ship was at sea for a little more than seven months — 220 days. During this period, 30,808 nautical miles were covered, more than 40 refueling operations were carried out, and over 10,000 tons of fuel and lubricants were issued. All the goals and objectives have been fulfilled," said tanker captain Andrey Netsvetaev.

Upon his return, the tanker's senior mechanic, Vladimir Trifanov, was awarded the medal "For Labor Valor. Many crew members were also awarded diplomas from the command of the Northern Fleet.

On March 17, crews of Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopters from the separate naval anti-submarine helicopter regiment of the mixed aviation corps of the Northern Fleet also conducted exercises to search, detect and subsequently destroy a simulated enemy submarine in the Barents Sea. During the training sorties, the military personnel were able to conduct a full cycle of anti-submarine exercises. So, at the initial stage, the pilots worked out the search for the submarine, for these purposes, standard radar and sonar equipment were used.

On March 12, the Kazan nuclear-powered submarine missile cruiser of the Northern Fleet fired an Onyx cruise missile at a sea target from an underwater position as part of planned combat training activities. The target, which designated the ship of the imaginary enemy, was located at a distance of up to 300 km in the Barents Sea. Objective control footage shows that the head of the Onyx missile hit a naval target.
