The expert admitted the strengthening of the ruble this week
This week, the ruble's strengthening trend is expected to continue in the ranges of 74-80 rubles per dollar, 86.50–92 per euro and 10.70–11.60 per yuan. Spartak Sobolev, head of the Alfa-Forex Investment Strategy Research Department, told Izvestia about this on April 13.
"The main factors supporting the Russian currency remain the high interest rate and oil prices, which generate expectations for a large volume of export earnings to enter the market this month. The monetary authorities can restrain the excessive strengthening of the national currency if they decide to resume operations with gold and foreign exchange reserves within the framework of the budget rule," the expert explained.
On April 11, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation set the exchange rate of the American currency at 76.9 rubles, the European currency at 90 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 11.2 rubles. At the same time, according to the Moscow Exchange, on April 13, the yuan is trading at 11.1 rubles.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper reported on April 12 about the decline in American futures after the breakdown of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict between the United States and Iran in Islamabad. Earlier, oil prices rose sharply: U.S. crude futures gained 9.2% and reached $105 per barrel, while the price of Brent rose to about $102. At the same time, futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices declined by about 1%.
