Iran considers the US naval blockade illegal. This was announced on April 13 by Colonel Ebrahim Zolfagari, press secretary of the central headquarters of the Khatam al-Anbiya military command of the republic.

"Criminal America's restrictions on the maritime movement of ships in international waters are an illegal act and a manifestation of maritime piracy," Zolfagari's words are reported by Tasnim news agency in a Telegram channel.
