Cleaning of roads near Moscow after winter will be completed by May 1

A large-scale campaign is underway in the Moscow Region to clean regional roads after the winter season. The work started in April and is expected to be completed by May 1.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, with reference to the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, about 900 units of special equipment were involved in cleaning the tracks. In case of frost, special equipment was left on duty for deicing the roadway.

At the first stage, the services carry out a comprehensive cleaning of the infrastructure. Workers wash and paint bus stops. In total, they have to put 4.4 thousand objects in order.

Sidewalks and roads are washed for almost 3 thousand km and 13 thousand km, respectively. It is necessary to put the fences in order, the total length of which is 2.5 thousand km. It is planned to wash and paint the noise screens on a 102 km site.

At the same time, workers are cleaning the trim parts of the roads, eliminating estimates, and collecting garbage along the highways. At the same time, linear markings are applied in cities. The total length of the lines to be updated is 3.8 thousand km. Markings will be updated at more than 1 thousand pedestrian crossings.

In addition, holes and defects on highways and sidewalks are being repaired, road signs are being updated, fences, lighting lines, traffic lights are being repaired, and pavilions at public transport stops are being put in order.

Also in April, several clean-up days will be held, which will be attended by more than 600 road workers and almost 300 employees of the regional Ministry of Transport and Mosavtodor. Two similar events have already taken place.

In early April, it was reported that public utilities in Pskov had begun washing glass bus shelters. A month of cleanliness has started in the regional capital. Citizens and heads of organizations are advised to carry out sanitary cleaning and cleaning of territories.
