In his new role as "chief fraud officer," Vice President Jay Dee Vance will focus on investigating the theft of federal funds in democratic states. This was announced on April 3 by US President Donald Trump.

"His attention will be focused on everything, but first of all on those states where Democrats prevail," the Reuters news agency quoted Trump as saying.

In particular, he noted California, Illinois, Minnesota, Maine, and New York as states where Vance should investigate fraudulent schemes more thoroughly. At the same time, the American leader clarified that "investigations have already begun" in Los Angeles.

In January, Trump announced that the US federal authorities had launched a fraud investigation into the state of California. The head of the White House added that he considers California, under the rule of Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, to be even more corrupt than the state of Minnesota.
