Lawyer Elena Ponomareva said that blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, was not restricted in her right to medical care. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Restriction regime and medical care

The lawyer, in a conversation with Channel Five, explained that Chekalina received the necessary treatment, as her petitions were granted. According to the lawyer, the investigation rejected only requests to visit commercial clinics, which could negatively affect the course of the investigation.

"According to the information available in the media, it can be said that she (Lercek — Ed.) was not limited in her right to receive appropriate treatment, since her petitions were granted. She was only denied access to commercial establishments, which, according to the investigation, could have some negative consequences for the investigation of the case," Ponomareva said.

She added that a forensic medical examination will be conducted in the framework of the Chekalina case. Experts will check whether there is a connection between the blogger's state of health and the actions of the investigative authorities.

"Therefore, it is premature to say that the investigator committed some kind of illegal act and restricted her right to treatment," the lawyer stressed.

The blogger's health status

Chekalina is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. According to her lover Luis Squicciarini, nine stages of therapy are planned, of which the first session and immunotherapy have already been completed. The disease has caused serious complications: the blogger has completely lost the sight in her right eye and has difficulty walking.

Recently, Chekalina also underwent a painful medical procedure to insert a venous port into her neck to administer drugs. Despite her serious condition, the blogger briefly left the clinic to celebrate her son Lev's fourth birthday. Valeria Chekalina herself stressed her determination to fight the disease.

"I'm ready. On alert. Now they will install a port in the neck. I will be like a female transformer," said Chekalina.

Ex-husband's position

Valeria Chekalina's ex-husband, Artyom Chekalin, admitted that Lerchek's treatment requires significant financial costs. He wished her a speedy recovery, adding that at the moment she needs funds both for treatment and for the maintenance of her family.

Reasons for late diagnosis

Chekalina links the late detection of cancer with the restrictions that were in effect during the investigation. According to her, during the period of house arrest, she was denied visits to specialized specialists in private clinics. In Istra, where she was staying, the medical infrastructure of government institutions proved insufficient to make an accurate diagnosis.

The blogger has already submitted an application demanding to check the actions of the police officers. In response to the claims, the Moscow Interior Ministry clarified that there was no complete ban on medical care. The agency explained that only applications for visits to private medical centers were rejected.

Suspicion of disease simulation

Messages have appeared on social media questioning the severity of the blogger's condition. Blogger Inna Kombarova wrote on the Telegram channel that her friend saw Chekalina training at the gym and sauna just a few days ago. The author of the publication expressed concern that such situations may negatively affect the reputation of the healthcare system.

Payment of tax debt

On March 31, the Moscow Arbitration Court decided to terminate the bankruptcy proceedings against Chekalina. The reason for this was the full repayment of debts owed to the tax authorities. At the meeting, the blogger's lawyer submitted documents confirming the transfer of 176 million rubles to the tax account.

This amount fully covered and even exceeded the initial requirements of the Federal Tax Service, which were estimated at about 173 million rubles. The court noted that the funds came from a third party, but the blogger's lover, Luis Squicciarini, later denied the information about outside help, stating in a personal blog about self-payment of the debt.

"The debt to the tax service has been repaid. Not by anyone, but by yourself," Squicciarini wrote briefly.
