The blogger's lover Lercek spoke about her therapy
The lover of blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek) Luis Squicciarini spoke about her condition on March 20.
"My friends and I support her, her family is always there. She's holding on, but it's very hard. Three therapies in parallel is very difficult for a person," Louis told Izvestia.
According to him, the girl is currently undergoing three types of treatment at once — chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation therapy. The course includes nine procedures with an interval of three weeks.
On March 20, the Main Directorate of the Moscow Interior Ministry denied information about Chekalina's complete ban on visiting medical institutions. It was clarified that the blogger had only twice been denied requests to visit commercial medical institutions. All requests for visits to state medical institutions from the accused and her defense were fully satisfied.
On the same day, Chekalina submitted an application to law enforcement agencies demanding to check the actions of employees of the Department of Internal Affairs (ATC) in the Moscow Regional Administrative District. The statement states that during the period of Chekalina's house arrest, she repeatedly required medical assistance, but difficulties arose with obtaining permits to visit doctors.
On March 16, the court released Chekalina from house arrest after confirming her cancer. Also, due to illness, it was allowed to suspend judicial proceedings in the blogger's criminal case on her withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was stated that the blogger's children live with her ex-husband Artyom.
The hospital doctors assessed Lercek's condition as moderate. On March 11, she began treatment at the State Cancer Center. She was later taken to a medical facility to begin a course of chemotherapy. On March 18, Chekalina's fiance Luis Squicciarini spoke about the improvement of her condition after undergoing the first course of immune therapy.
