Hyundai has registered the Blue Drive trademark in Russia
South Korean automaker Hyundai has officially registered a new Blue Drive car brand in Russia. Information about this appeared in the data of Rospatent, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 20.
The trademark registration application was sent on July 24, 2024. The received certificate gives the company the right to manufacture and sell vehicles under the Blue Drive brand in the territory of the Russian Federation.
On February 6, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, noted that as of the end of January, slightly less than 20 thousand cars of the Russian Solaris brand remained at the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg and in the dealer network. In total, from March 2024 to December 2025, just over 70,000 Solaris vehicles were assembled at the company in St. Petersburg. HC crossovers accounted for more than 40%.
Earlier, on February 2, it was reported that Hyundai Motor did not use the option to buy back its former production plant in Russia, which was valid until January 31, 2026. Auto expert Maxim Kadakov noted that there were no prerequisites and conditions for Hyundai's return to Russia a year ago, when discussions of such a development appeared in the media.
