Pamfilova declared the right of 19 parties to participate in elections at various levels in the Russian Federation

19 political parties are eligible to participate in elections at various levels in Russia. This was announced on March 18 by the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, at a meeting of the commission.

"On March 12, the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation confirmed the decision to suspend the activities of the Social Protection Party. By virtue of the law, a party whose activities have been suspended cannot participate in elections. Thus, dear colleagues, 19 parties currently have the right to participate in federal, regional and municipal elections," she said.

Pamfilova noted that these parties will have to work at different levels in the upcoming election campaign.

In February, the CEC of the Russian Federation announced the approximate date of voting in the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. So, the elections are scheduled to be held on September 20, 2026.

It was clarified that the voting will be held according to a mixed system: 225 deputies will be elected from party lists and 225 from single—mandate constituencies. The term of office of the Duma of the IX convocation will be five years, until September 2031.

In addition, for the first time, elections of deputies of the lower house of parliament will be held in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
