The search for three teenagers who disappeared by the river on March 7 has been completed in Zvenigorod. The bodies of all the children were found by rescuers during a large-scale operation. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Circumstances of the disappearance

Three children — 13-year-old Alina, 12-year-old Bogdan and 12-year-old Ivan — disappeared in the Zvenigorod area on the afternoon of March 7. They were last seen walking in the Vostochny microdistrict near the Moskva River, after which communication with them was interrupted, and mobile phones became unavailable. During the initial inspections of the coastline, the search team found a scarf and a headdress belonging to the missing.

One of the local fishermen later informed law enforcement officers that he witnessed the tragedy and saw the children drowning. The man explained that he did not contact the emergency services immediately, as he believed that another witness to the incident had already done so. To clarify all the circumstances, the eyewitness was taken to law enforcement agencies.

Search results

Ivan's body was found first on March 11, and it was found two kilometers downstream from the suspected ice hole. Two days later, rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations found the second dead child seven kilometers from the scene. The head of the Odintsovo city district, Andrei Ivanov, announced on March 17 the discovery of the body of the girl Alina and the completion of the search operation.

"The search operation in Zvenigorod has been completed. A girl's body has been found in the Moskva River," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Progress of the investigation

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case into the disappearance of the teenagers. Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Yaroslav Yakovlev, head of the GSU of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region, to submit a report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances of the incident. More than 170 people were involved in the work, including divers, LizaAlert volunteers and Dobrotvorets volunteers.

During the operation, experts examined hundreds of thousands of square meters of the water area and the river bottom using drones, helicopters and airboats. The head of the Odintsovo city district noted that the administration provided maximum support to the search participants and promised assistance to the families of the victims.

"The work is going on around the clock, all forces and resources are involved. Rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Mosoblpozhspas specialists, volunteers from the LizaAlert search and rescue team, the Dobrotvorets diving group, police, medics and other specialized services are participating in the operation," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
