In Kiev, almost 2 thousand houses were left without heating.
In Kiev, about 2.7 thousand houses were left without heating. This was announced on March 7 by the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko.
According to him, due to damage to the infrastructure, more than 1,9 thousand houses in Pechersk, Dneprovsky, Goloseevsky and Solomenskiy districts were without heat.
"There are about 2,700 houses in the city without heat," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The total number also includes high-rise buildings in the Darnitsky and Dneprovsky districts, where it is impossible to supply heat due to critical damage to the thermal power plant (CHP).
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on March 3 that Klitschko would be responsible for the insufficient preparation of the city for winter. According to the Ukrainian leader, Kiev is the only one that has not presented a plan to prepare for next winter.
Klitschko said on February 15 that Kiev was already on the brink of disaster. He clarified that the city was in this situation as a result of damage to critical infrastructure, and local residents faced massive power outages, heating and water supply. Klitschko noted that his long-standing political feud with Zelensky only worsens the city's problems.
