The French Armed Forces announced the neutralization of the drone at the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) heading towards the French nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle was neutralized. This was announced on February 26 by the LCI TV channel.

According to the channel, the incident occurred off the coast of Sweden, near the city of Malmo. According to the French military, the neutralization of the UAV was carried out by the Swedish Armed Forces, using an electronic jamming system. As a result, the device lost control.

However, the location of the drone has not yet been established. According to one version, he could have fallen into the sea.

At the same time, it is possible that the drone could return to the ship from which it was supposedly launched.

On January 21, the French government requested the holding of NATO exercises in Greenland. It was noted that the republic is ready to contribute to the exercises in the Arctic.

In December 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to build a new aircraft carrier for the French Navy. According to him, the construction of the aircraft carrier will bring financial benefits to small and medium-sized enterprises represented by 800 suppliers, and the aircraft carrier itself will become the "embodiment of the might" of his nation.
