The day of a large family will be celebrated in the Pskov region

In the Pskov region, the calendar of regional commemorations and holidays will be replenished with another holiday, the Day of a large Family. Its date will be determined in the near future.

The deputies of the regional assembly adopted the relevant law in the first reading. As the Pskov news feed was told in the press service of the regional parliament, the initiative was put forward by an inter-factional group of deputies. All the parliamentarians conceptually supported it.

According to Anton Minakov, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, who is a member of the inter—factional group, demography is one of the biggest problems in the Pskov Region. The deputies are responsible for popularizing the institution of the family, including a large family. It is proposed to create a commission to select the date of the holiday and adopt the bill in the second reading.

The agency writes that the idea to establish a Large Family Day in the Pskov region is consistent with the Strategy of Action for the implementation of family and demographic policy, and support for large families in Russia until 2036. The goals of preserving the population by increasing the birth rate and supporting the family as the foundation of Russian society are outlined at the state level.

Other regional holidays are currently being celebrated in the Pskov Region, including Pskov Region Flag Day (February 20), Partisan Glory Day (the first Sunday in July), and Pskov Region Education Day (August 23).

Earlier, on February 25, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the Russian authorities were actively involving employers in family support issues. One of these measures will be an increase in the non-taxable amount to be provided to citizens at the birth of a child. According to the Prime Minister, companies will independently determine the amount of such corporate payments.
