AGR Holding and Defetoo have completed the technical re-equipment of the production site in Shushary, formerly owned by General Motors (GM). This was reported in the AGR's press release on February 26.

The new site will organize the production of a full cycle of cars of the Russian brand Jeland. The plant in St. Petersburg was acquired by AGR Holding in 2024. By the time the modernization work began, its buildings were virtually empty structures, according to a press release. The previously installed equipment was completely dismantled, and there was no engineering or technological infrastructure.

In June 2025, the first container with metal structures for the installation of heavy production lines was delivered to the enterprise. A total of 600 containers with equipment were delivered to the plant.

The new production facility was established in less than eight months. At the moment, the installation of the equipment has been completed, and its additional commissioning is underway. A comprehensive technical re-equipment of the site has been carried out, and a high degree of process automation has been introduced. A new test track has been built, landscaping has been completed, roads and sidewalks have been repaired.

The design capacity of the enterprise is up to 100 thousand vehicles per year.

On February 17, the Kaluga plant AGR Holding (formerly Volkswagen) received Vehicle Type Approval for two crossovers under the new domestic brand Jeland — C5 and C7. The Kaluga-based company is currently producing Tenet crossovers.
