Unfriendly countries are actively provoking tension around Belarus. In response, the necessary security measures are being taken within the framework of the Union State. This was announced on February 26 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov stressed that Belarus is surrounded by countries that are taking actions aimed at escalating tensions.

"Our Belarusian friends and allies are taking appropriate measures to ensure their own security, as well as these measures are being taken within the framework of the Union State," Peskov added.

The Kremlin's press service announced on February 24 that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko will hold a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on February 26. At the event, the leaders of the states will discuss the work within the framework of the document "Main directions for the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2024-2026."
