- The People's Front and Moscow State University have launched a course on the adaptation of military veterans to peaceful life
The People's Front and the Faculty of Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University have launched an online course "Adaptation of veterans of the SVO", which is aimed at supporting participants in a special military operation (SVO) returning to civilian life. This was reported in the press service of the organization on February 26.
The agreement on the creation of the course was signed by the parties on January 27. The program is designed for fighters who, after returning home, experience difficult emotional states, search for new meanings and strive to establish relationships with loved ones. The training is based on the format of pre-recorded video lectures, which can be conducted at a convenient pace from any device.
"The idea of the course is that no one understands veterans better than veterans. But it is important that they themselves are aware of what changes can occur after a combat experience. The course shows which areas of life can be affected, without dramatization and labels. It is made online to be available throughout the country, and then participants will be able to continue their studies under the Peer–to–Peer program, having tried themselves as mentors," said Alexandra Dolgikh, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The course is free of charge and consists of six thematic modules on issues of crises, well-being, family relationships, professional realization and personal adaptation.
"I lost my eyesight, but I understand that injuries do not limit a person. It is important to bring the fighter back into society, help him adapt, determine his future path, choose retraining and employment. The most important thing is that everyone understands that he is not forgotten. We can give each other shoulder, support and warmth," said Alexander Antonov, a veteran of the Russian Military.
On December 10, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko noted that veterans of their military education should not refuse the support of a psychotherapist who can really help in a difficult period of life. He added that psychological comfort is the same as physical health. This applies to the comfort and environment of the whole family.
