New domestic winter tire introduced in Russia

Cordiant Holding has introduced a new studded Gislaved One W winter tire for passenger cars and crossovers. According to the company, the premium model, which will become the flagship in the line, is a completely proprietary development of the holding, the Izvestia correspondent reports on February 25.

The tire was developed by NTC Intair specialists using the international experience of tire technologies and engineering solutions accumulated at enterprises that were previously part of the global tire concerns Continental and Bridgestone, the manufacturer noted.

The Gislaved One W will be available in 75 standard sizes from 16 to 22 inches. Sales of the new model will start in the fall of 2026. Production is organized at Gislaved plants in Kaluga and Ulyanovsk.

Cordiant Holding has five production sites: the plants of JSC Cordiant in Omsk and Yaroslavl and enterprises purchased from foreign owners: the former Continental in Kaluga and Bridgestone in Ulyanovsk (now Gislaved plants). The total production capacity of the holding company reaches 15 million tires per year.

The import of passenger car tires from China to Russia in 2025 fell by 4% compared to the previous year, which was a record. As specified on February 6, last year, tire imports from China to Russia reached $510.15 million.
