The Art Russia Contemporary Art Fair will be held in Moscow
From April 2 to 5, Gostiny Dvor will host one of the main cultural events of the spring season — the 7th edition of the Art Russia Contemporary Art Fair.
The fair's exhibitors will be more than 100 independent artists and galleries that have been curated from several thousand applications. These are both established artists and new promising authors. The exhibition will feature paintings, sculptures, graphics, photography and design items.
At the fair, you can become not only a spectator, but also an art owner. Each visitor gets the opportunity to personally communicate with the authors of the works, replenish their art collection or purchase an art object for a non-standard interior solution. The price range of works starts from 50 thousand rubles.
"Art fairs play a big role in the development of the art market. This is a story not only about collectors, but also about new names in the art world, success stories that become real thanks to the participation of independent authors in such projects. At one time, we were the first to allow independent artists to stand on stands separately along with galleries. Every year we see our exhibitors grow: they find the first collectors, collaborate with well-known galleries and receive recognition from the expert community," said Elizaveta Frolova, art critic and co—founder of the Art Russia Fair.
This year, visitors to the fair will find an updated format of the business program: not just discussions and lectures, but separate sections in nine areas. These are contemporary art, cinema, dance, photography, architecture, literature, music, design and theater. Special attention is paid to the practical part, where the viewer gets personal experience from interacting with art. Complementing the exposition part, the business program shows the relationship between these areas.
"The main task of the forum is to give the audience not only knowledge, but also personal experience of interacting with art. The structure of the thematic sections is based on the principle of a sequence of immersion: from expert discussions and theory to practical interactivity. Each section will also have a co—organizer — a specialized institute or a significant industry leader," Larisa Udovichenko, art critic and program director of the Art Russia Fair.
A lot of attention is paid to the children's territory at the fair. This is not a play area, but a full-fledged art space with hundreds of creative workshops led by experienced mentors. As part of the exhibition, young artists will have the opportunity to present their work for free by passing a curatorial selection. In 2026, the theme of the exhibition on the Children's Territory is "Through the Looking Glass of Dreams": a fantastic country where everything is possible, and the boundaries between reality and imagination are blurred.
