The Chinese automaker GAC has decided to withdraw the GS3 compact crossover from sales in the Russian market, but does not rule out its return in the future. This was reported to RIA Novosti on February 24 by the company's press service.

"In the context of the current instability of the automotive market, which is caused by a number of factors, from the economic situation to changes in the structure of supply and demand, we have decided to adjust the presence of the GAC GS3 model in the Russian market," the statement said.

The company stressed that they are working on the option of returning the model. The final decision will be made based on the current market situation and customer feedback.

The GAC GS3 is one of the most affordable crossovers of the Chinese brand on the Russian market. It was offered with a 1.3-liter gasoline turbo engine with 137 hp and front-wheel drive. Sales of the model started in Russia in 2023. To date, GS5, GS8 and GN8 crossovers remain in the GAC model range in Russia.

On January 6, GAC announced that it plans to introduce four models in Russia, including hybrid crossovers and an electric sports car. Currently, the GAC model range in Russia includes GS3, GS4 and GS8 crossovers, the Empower sedan and the M8 minivan.
