Russian ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov arrived in St. Petersburg on February 24 after participating in the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

He stated that he was pleased with his result at the Olympics. In addition, the athlete commented on the organization of the competition, saying that everything was scattered in different locations.

"The organization was scattered across different locations — not like in Sochi in 2014, where almost everything was in one place. But the spirit of the Olympics was felt, and I am happy with my performance and the medal," the ski climber told Izvestia.

In addition, Filippov noted that he has a plan to get a gold medal at the Olympic Games in 2030.

Russian athletes won one medal at the 2026 Olympics. The only winner of the award was Filippov, who won silver in the sprint. In the final, the 23-year-old Russian scored 2 minutes 35.5 seconds, losing to Spaniard Oriol Cardona Kohl.
