Evolve assessed the damage to the car factory as a result of the roof collapse
In the incident with the collapse of the roof at the Evolute site near Lipetsk, the technological equipment involved in the production of cars was not damaged. The technological cycle of the assembly is also not disrupted. The company's press service informed Izvestia about this on February 20.
"Also, the damage did not affect cars located both in the finished product warehouse and at various stages of assembly on the assembly line, including test and pre-production samples. This means that the schedule of the production plan of cars has not been violated and all obligations to partners and customers will be fulfilled," the company said.
As for the timing of the restoration of the roof, they will be determined only after completing a comprehensive examination of the structures and obtaining an expert opinion, representatives of Evolve said.
The company's press service explained that a partial collapse of the roof occurred in the assembly area of the welding workshop commissioned in 2014. The workshop was scheduled to be restarted in April 2026. One employee is in serious condition (stable), and several people have sustained moderate and mild injuries. Rescue operations at the plant were completed on February 19.
