In Poland, the Polska 2050 party, part of Donald Tusk's ruling coalition, was on the verge of splitting after the January internal party elections. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on February 19.

On Wednesday, February 18, 15 deputies left the party amid an acute struggle for leadership and accusations of suppressing internal criticism by the new leader Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz. The breakaway parliamentarians, led by Climate and Environment Minister Paulina Hennik-Kloska, have formed their own group called Centrum.

Hennick-Kloska stated that the new association will allow "to return the space for work and fulfillment of the promises of the 2023 campaign," emphasizing the lack of dialogue and partnership in Polska 2050. For several months now, the party has been showing only 2-3% support in polls, which is below the 5% threshold.

"Over the past year, we have had to go through and overcome turbulence, much more severe. We have experienced upheavals in the global, European and Polish political arena and have come through them in very good condition," Tusk said.

The internal struggle also affected the representation of Polska 2050 in the Senate and the European Parliament, where MP Michal Kobosko left the party earlier this week. Former party leader Shimon Holuvnia believes that the split is caused by the fact that the retired deputies "hate" the new leader.

Gazeta Wyborcza reported on December 1, 2025, that the Świętokrzyski Park in the center of Warsaw has become a hotbed of constant conflicts and attacks by Ukrainian migrants. According to the newspaper, in just a year the police went there more than 900 times, and in November there was a mass brawl involving about 50 people. It was noted that the number of police visits to the area is steadily growing, which makes it one of the most problematic places in the Polish capital.
