- More than 70,000 foreigners were expelled from Russia in 2025 for violating the law.
More than 70,000 foreign citizens were expelled from Russia in 2025 for violating the law. This was announced on February 19 by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption.
"Last year, 72,000 foreigners were expelled for violating the law," TASS quoted him as saying.
The Minister noted that there could be a question of the possibility of expelling 10 times as many violators, and acknowledged that this would be feasible if appropriate funding was available.
On January 4, the press service of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) announced that in 2025, more than 54,000 foreigners were forcibly expelled from Russia due to violations of the law. The ministry noted that in the same period of 2024, 79 thousand foreigners were expelled.
