Starting from September 1, applicants of pedagogical universities will take the specialized Unified State Exam

Applicants of pedagogical universities will take the profile unified state exam (USE) instead of social studies, the order of the Ministry of Education of Russia will enter into force on September 1. This was announced on February 19 by the head of the department Sergey Kravtsov.

"According to the order, when applying to teaching courses in the fields of mathematics, physics/astronomy, computer science, chemistry, biology, Russian language, literature, the Unified State Exam in Social Studies will no longer be accepted as a mandatory entrance test. Instead, applicants need to take a specialized subject," he explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Kravtsov explained that the changes will take effect from the admission campaign of the 2027/2028 academic year. The Minister stressed that in this way future students will be able to get to know the subject they plan to teach in the future while they are still studying at school.
