The police in St. Petersburg will take the initiative to ban the work of migrant workers in the retail trade so that they are not hired as security guards, while registering them as storekeepers or consultants. This was announced on February 18 by Roman Plugin, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

"We want to come out with a petition to ban the use of migrants at wholesale and retail trade facilities," RIA Novosti quoted Plugin as saying.
