MIPT, MEPhI and Central University have become leaders in the quality of general admission of applicants in 2025. This is evidenced by the monitoring results of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

The authors of the study noted that for the first time in the 15-year history of the rating, the top three were formed by technical universities.

The first place was taken by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with an average USE score of 96.8 among students, the second - by the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (91.5), the third — by the Central University (87.8 points). Innopolis University is in the fourth position.

"The news of 2024 and 2025 was the rapid growth of the reputation of two young non-state universities. The Central University (in its 2nd year of admission) took the third place in the main ranking in 2025, increasing the quality of admission by three points compared to 2024 and almost doubling the enrollment," commented Yaroslav Kuzminov, Research Supervisor at the Higher School of Economics.

In terms of the quality of paid enrollment, Central University has become the best university in Russia. Innopolis University and HSE are on the second and third lines of the rating, respectively.

The experts stressed that in 2025, new private universities based on business support and specializing in information technology, mathematics and business informatics took the first positions among universities with paid enrollment.

"Leading positions in such a respected ranking is a great event for us and recognition of the effectiveness of our educational model. This success could not have been achieved alone. Partnership and cooperation are the strength and the future," said Evgeny Ivashkevich, Rector of the Central University.

In 2025, 815 universities participated in the study, including 395 main state universities, 329 branches and 91 non-governmental ones. The average USE scores of the enrolled students were calculated for each of them.

Monitoring has been carried out since 2010 with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
