5,000 roofs to be cleaned in St. Petersburg before impending snowfall
In St. Petersburg, on the eve of the cyclone, the roofs of almost 5 thousand non-residential buildings will be cleared of snow and ice. This was announced on Wednesday, February 18, according to the press service of the City State Administrative and Technical Inspectorate (GATI).
The authorities of the Northern capital ordered to prepare the roofs of social facilities by February 21, writes 78.ru . Owners of private non-residential buildings are also required to monitor the condition of the roof.
GATI and artificial intelligence specialists will monitor the fulfillment of the requirements. Since the beginning of 2026, the neural network has already identified many violations, leading to fines of more than 22 million rubles. For automatic fixation of icicles, a fine of 100 thousand rubles is threatened.
GATI employees trained eight Gorodovoy neural network complexes at the end of the 2024-2025 winter season. The task of the system is to accurately distinguish ice and snow from stucco and bas—reliefs on the facades of buildings. When the accuracy became high, the function was put into operation.
