Thirteen organizers of an underground casino will be convicted in the Tula region

In Shchekino, Tula region, the investigation of a criminal case on the organization of underground gambling has been completed. The defendants in this case are 13 people from 27 to 43 years old.

The investigation found that the process was led by a 43-year-old resident of Tula. He and the rest of the band rented several rooms in Shchekino, installed gaming equipment and accepted bets from customers.

The illegal business operated for more than four years, from May 2021 to June 2025. During this time, the defendants in the case have earned more than 4 million rubles. Moreover, bets were placed not only directly, but also via the Internet. To do this, they used special communication channels and electronic devices.

Employees of the regional FSB uncovered the scheme and detained the suspects. The case materials have been submitted to the court, TSN24 writes with reference to the prosecutor's office of the Tula region.

Earlier, on February 17, Deputy Finance Minister Ivan Chebeskov said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy that Russian citizens spend about 2 trillion rubles annually from bookmakers.
