The negotiations on Ukraine in Geneva were very tense
The meetings in Geneva on February 17 were bilateral and trilateral in nature and lasted six hours. This was reported by a source of Izvestia in the negotiating group.
According to the source, the consultations took place in the formats Russia – USA, Russia – Ukraine, as well as with the participation of all three sides. The atmosphere at the negotiations was tense.
The parties agreed to continue work on February 18. The head of the Ukrainian delegation, NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov did not respond to a question from Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin about the results of the meeting.
Negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the United States are taking place in Geneva for two days — on February 17 and 18. The first day of consultations ended the day before. Following the meeting, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) discussed the preliminary results of the negotiations with the United States and the European Union (EU). At the same time, Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing sources, reported that the negotiations in Geneva could allegedly "stall."
